A Personal Message from the Founder of the “Sirius Research Group”:
This website is not about any astronomical speculations, all of the 2012 hype, the ‘Da Vinci Code’ craze or similar stuff that supposedly reveals some ancient wisdom to entertain (sorry, “inform”) the masses, fulfilling human de$ires.
Selfless sages like Sri Yukteswar tell us of how to get rid of desires - a powerful yet illusory enemy for each one of us, whether the Earth wobbles or not.
While his material interpretation of the Yugas remains so radically different from what conventional wisdom teaches, I must say that during the recent year or so some of my views on the precession issue have changed - others haven’t.
Needless to say, if at anytime anyone were to ask me anything about precession, I shall make it very clear that any astronomer (from “Backyard observer” to “Big Bang creationist”) who claims that in the absence of precession Earth’s 360-degree orbit around the Sun is about 20 minutes longer than the defined length of the tropical year, is either quite ignorant of certain fundamental scientific facts, a brainwashed victim of an astronomical deception or a liar.
Of course, it is difficult to get anyone to understand this simple material scientific problem when the individual’s belief and/or source of income require not understanding it.
But for all that we really know, the precession phenomenon is just another concept and thus it is not the real problem for the truth-seeking mind - although an obsession with it is.
The purpose of life is not about locating, naming, calculating and endlessly analyzing with intellectual precision the material appearances of these cycles.
While the so-called “astrological influences” on the human psyche seem real, there is reason to believe that during certain moments the patterns of various celestial cycles offer the human intellect or mind fruitful opportunities or conditions to enter the Heart.
Sri Yukteswar’s introduction to “The Holy Science” can only be fully grasped by someone who has carefully read the rest of his book, comprehended its underlying tenet and most importantly, lives by it.
This Great Work serves as a reminder and as a guide for all of us to do the righteous thing, to remember our true Self - here and now, in Silence and in our Heart, and in the absence of our personal ego …
